To whom it may concern: It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Ms. Mackenzie (Mac) Vela. As her softball coach Volcano Vista High School I Have observed Mac in many different situations. Mac is a very intelligent young lady. She's hard working on and off the field. Her GPA is an example of her dedication to how hard she works in the classroom. Her softball ability and her dedication to both her summer league team and her high school team is a fine example of the hard work she put into her game. Mac is a very versatile on the field. She can play both infield and outfield. I primarily used Mac last season in left field because of her speed, her arm strength and ability to track the ball. Mac is a thinker, her IQ is high and she knows and understands the game well. Offensively Mac can swing the bat for power and consistency having played and started in all 24 games last season. Mac had 70 plate appearances and only struck out 6 times. She had 2 home runs 7 doubles. This is an indication of her speed. Quite honestly Mac has one of the prettiest softball swing that I've ever seen and I've been coaching at the varsity level for over 15 years. Mac is a fierce competitor and plays the game with passion and love for the game. I am very fortunate to know and coach Mac.
