Event Details - NCS Prospects 360 Combine Event

Welcome to the NCS Prospects 360 Combine Event, designed by MLB Scouts, College Coaches, and Professional Baseball experts, where athletes will have the unique opportunity to showcase their skills through a series of advanced tests in a competitive, real-world setting. This event is designed to help baseball athletes of all levels improve their game while also providing invaluable insights into their strengths and areas for improvement. Athletes will be tested in a variety of categories, including speed, agility, strength, and hitting with real-time metrics and performance data recorded using state-of-the-art technology. The combine’s results will help athletes refine their skills by receiving a comprehensive view of their abilities. (Pitching and fielding may be added to select events only).

Test Stations and Importance: (see Registration Page for specific event details and offerings)

  • Hitter Metrics in Batting Cage: This station measures bat speed, exit velocity, and swing mechanics. These metrics are essential for evaluating a hitter’s potential and power.

  • 10-30-60 Yard Sprint Time: This test evaluates speed and acceleration, two crucial attributes for baseball athletes in fielding, base running, and overall game performance.

  • 5-10-5 Shuttle: This agility drill tests quickness, lateral movement, and the ability to change direction rapidly. It is key for evaluating an athlete’s agility and fielding skills.

  • Broad Jump: This test measures lower-body explosiveness and power, which is vital for improving pitching velocity, bat speed, and fielding range.

  • Vertical Jump: This test assesses how high an individual can jump vertically from a standing position, making it a valuable tool for coaches and trainers to evaluate leg strength and athletic ability.

  • Raw Arm or Positional Throw Testing: This test measures arm strength and velocity.

  • Catcher Pop Times: For catchers, this test measures throwing accuracy and speed, important for evaluating defensive abilities and base-stealing prevention.

  • (In select events only) Pitcher Bullpens or In-Game Evaluations: Athletes will showcase their pitching mechanics and velocity. This test helps evaluate their arm strength, control, and overall pitching technique.

What Parents and Players Receive:

After completing the testing, athletes will receive a personalized Player Report Page that showcases their testing results and compares their performance against peers. These results can be shared with coaches, scouts, and college recruiters, helping athletes gain visibility.

Event Logistics:

  • Check-In: Arrive 1 hour before the event starts.

  • Dynamic Stretching: Players will participate in dynamic stretching led by professional trainers to prepare for testing.

  • Parent Talk: Parents will be briefed on the event’s schedule, the importance of each test, and the tools used for recording metrics.

  • After the Testing: Parents and Players can participate in NCS Prospects 360 educational talks that may include recruiting, player development, and other hot discussion topics related to helping athletes and parents navigate the higher levels of game play and competition.
